A Sign, An Interview, and an Otter

A friend sent this to me yesterday, after which I saw it on several websites. I think it could be the best sign I see in 2013.  Even if it’s not “real,” it is funny!


And this…from Christoph Niemann’s New York Times blog, Abstract Sunday. Niemann illustrated himself listening to Terry Gross’s now famous 2011 interview with Maurice Sendak before he died.  Sad and beautiful and inspiring…here’s the link:


I know we’re not supposed to judge books by their covers – but why not?  A well-designed cover is one of the most pleasurable parts of opening a new book. Looking at the cover is one reason why, as much as I love my Nook for traveling, I prefer real books. I didn’t think I was interested in otters, but this cover makes me reconsider:
