This is the story of a book with a keen sense of place. A colleague at school answered the phone one day last week, and the woman on the other end introduced herself as a librarian in a small Wyoming town. She called Inly to let us know that one of our school library books was found in their book return slot. The book’s title? C is for Cowboy: A Wyoming Alphabet!
We can’t figure it out. There are no families who moved to Wyoming this summer. Perhaps one of our families borrowed it to bring along on a western adventure, but it is far more fun to imagine that the book was being called home.
