There’s always a book in the book fair display that jumps right out at me – either because it’s one I want to read or one I didn’t know about. I don’t know how I missed Karma Wilson’s new book, The Cow Loves Cookies. Amazon states that it was published in July, but it got by me. I keep an eye out for new installments in her popular series about Bear. Inly’s shelves include Bear Snores On, Bear Wants More, Bear Feels Sick – we have the whole ouevre. But as I was unpacking boxes from Scholastic, I looked at this cute cover and thought – what a preschooler-pleasing book title.
The Cow Loves Cookies is a rhyming story about a farmer making his rounds and feeding his animals. As you can guess from the title, the cow in this story does not eat grass. You have to give him credit. Given the choice between the front yard and the cookie jar, it seems obvious enough. As soon as the book fair is packed away, I’m moving this one to the front of the read aloud list.
